Everything We Know About the Movie Adaptation of It Ends with Us

Based on the best-selling book by Colleen Hoover, the movie stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel It Ends with Us is getting an on-screen version starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Similar to the 2016 novel, the film will track Lively’s character Lily Bloom as she relocates to Boston to start a flower store. Lily, who is dealing with the psychological fallout from her father’s maltreatment of her mother, meets Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni) and they fall in love. However, their ferocious romance soon becomes something Lily recognises as dangerously familiar, and things become even more complicated when her ex-boyfriend Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) reappears.

It’s an honour to take on a role that has had such a significant influence, Lively previously told People.

We’ve included all the information you require about the film below.

Why is the book the subject of controversy?

Fans were upset to learn that a colouring book based on the novel would be released in January 2023, given the terrible themes of domestic abuse central to the plot. Some were concerned that making the book into a colouring book would lessen the significance of such important subjects.

Later that month, Hoover responded to the criticism in an Instagram Story. She wrote at the time, as reported by Today, “I can definitely see how this was tone-deaf, but the colouring book was developed with Lily’s strength in mind.” “Hey folks, I hear you and I agree. Make no excuses. Not pointing fingers. I would prefer that we not proceed with it, and I have informed the publisher of this. I appreciate your kind conversation and responsibility. Just love, nothing else.

A few others expressed apprehensions regarding the romance tag attached to the novel, arguing that this tactic could distort the views of a younger audience on relationships.
